Horse racing on the AuraBet exchange

Back or lay horses in every race on the card, with the price you choose and the liability shown before you bet.

How exchange betting works on racing

In a race market each horse is a runner. Backing a horse wins if it wins; laying a horse wins if it does not, so you can oppose a favourite you think is short-priced without having to pick the winner. Prices are set by the market in the minutes before the off, and the exchange matches your bet at the price you asked for or better.

Non-runners and settlement

When a horse is withdrawn, the remaining prices can be reduced by a reduction factor so the market stays fair; the rules page lists how reductions are applied to matched bets. Races settle on the official result. Racing markets open and close quickly, so the race list on this page changes through the day.
